People would often recall Burj Khalifa as being the tallest structure in the world, and now it would become the second tallest building. Saudi Arabia has decided to build a tower that would be twice the size of the Burj. This tall structure has been named as the Kingdom Tower, and the estimated cost of building is reported at thirty billion dollars. The height of the tower would be as far as one mile and would have an area of 12 million cubic feet. Dubai-based Emaar has been signed up as developer as well as Burj’s team, ex-SOM staffer Adrien Smith of Adrien Smith and Gordon Gill Architecture to design the tower. The building will apparently be able to house about 80,000 people. It is said that it will take 12 minutes to reach the zenith of this huge structure.
