Vertu, the pioneer and leading manufacturer of luxury mobile phones has host a private debate and cocktail party at the inaugural Vogue Festival taking place at the Royal Geographical Society in London. The private talk chaired by British Vogue Editor Alexandra Shulman, will discuss whether technology shapes desire or desire shapes technology. Perry Oosting, President of Vertu will be joined for the debate by fashion illustrator David Downton; Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet; and designer Erdem Moralioglu. Highlights of the event can be seen exclusively on Vertu.com and also on each Vertu handset via Vertu Select, a digest of original articles selected to inspire, inform and entertain based on a user’s region, preferences and passions.

The event is the first of its kind, offering guests an opportunity to see some of the fashion industry’s leading creative talents including international designers, models, photographers and broadcasters.

Alongside the main programme of talks, discussions, films and performances, there will also be a wealth of activities taking place. Hair colourist Josh Wood will be offering mini styling sessions with wash-out dyes and coloured temporary hair extensions, while Armani’s make-up artists are offering tutorials on how to get summer’s smoky eyes and beauty experts will show guests their perfect red lipstick. Guests will also have the opportunity to get their make-up retouched by Chanel beauty guru Mary Greenwell before posing for a special Vogue cover shoot.
