It is well known that Nikon is one of the go-to brands that everyone would choose for both purposes, professional and amateur photography. If we want to talk more about Nikon, then we cannot but to mention that it specializes in some of the highest end optical lens on the market. Nikon produced a 6mm f/2.8 lens weighing 5200 grams known as “most extreme fisheye lens” in 1970. So unique that it has the ability to take a picture at an angle of 220 degrees. Because of this extreme angle, taking an image from behind itself is possible.
The lens went into production in 1972 although it was originally introduced at the Photokina trade show in Germany, Cologne back in the 1970. It was built as an expedition to Antarctica and this is the reason which allowed photographers to take all-encompassing images of the terrain and sky. The specialty fisheye scope is big enough to require its own tripod amount as it measures 236mm by 171mm long and uses 12 glass elements in nine groups.
Gary Levett said that he found this amazing rare lens while on a trip overseas. He also believes that it is one of only a few hundred produced. You can find it available for purchase for about $161,400 through the award-winning London-based specialty camera shop, Grays of Westminster.
