Romain Jerome PAC-MAN Watch

Here is RJ-Romain Jerome again stunning us with the 80 watches themed after the cult PAC-MAN, after the big success the Space Invaders watches achieved. Four different modes of 20 pieces each paying tribute to the flagship Eighties icon, RJ-Romain Jerome is bringing the famous yellow character back to life and of course, this project was in association with NAMCO BANDI Games. As usual, Romain Jerome is used a very sophisticated production process to create the characters and fruits on the PAC-MAN watch dial; each dial of the three levels is encrusted with a pixilated matrix which resulted in a fragile 3-dimensional view. Amongst the amazing models, the most featured is the Ghosts (Blinky-red, Pinky-pink, Inky-blue, and Clyde-Orange) and the two extra Cherries. The upper level features straight-grained edges while the lower two levels are bead-blasted. Built piece by piece, applied by hand and gem-set, they are subsequently lacquered with different colors or with black superluminova “green emission”, thus recreating actual game sequences. An official PAC-MAN logo is also placed near the 6 o’clock position.
The 46mm black PVD coated with polished and sandblasted surfaces case of this watch is inherited from the RJ Moon collection — an alloy of steel and fragments of Apollo 11. Designed pretty much like the legs of the lunar landing module in American lunar expeditions, the four ball-and-socket joints are placed on the corners of the case. When looking at the back of the watch, we will see a disc made of a low-oxidation silver fused with moon rocks; the RJ’s proprietary “Moon Silver” which produces the surface of the Moon. It is to be launched exclusively at the Colette store in Paris on September 3^rd and then at September 10 at other Romain Jerome retailers pricing at $17,900.
