Jaeger-LeCoultre, the reference in Swiss fine watchmaking, announced its official second-year partnership with the Abu Dhabi Film Festival. Following the successful festivals in Shanghai and Venice, Jaeger-LeCoultre continues its association as the official partner of the 2012 Abu Dhabi Film Festival.
A highlight at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival will be the launch the new Jaeger-LeCoultre ladies watch in the Middle East: Rendez-Vous. Born at the heart of the Vallée de Joux – the cradle of Swiss Fine Watchmaking, far removed from the frantic pace of the city where time is no longer counted but instead rushes relentlessly by – the Rendez-Vous collection proudly proclaims its roots. It embodies the full range of expertise developed by Jaeger-LeCoultre for over 180 years. Within it blossoms the beauty of authentic horology: that which transcends time, the better to tame it. It epitomizes the charm of the most beautiful creations, those that set a date with techniques and aesthetics, uniting them in a disarmingly natural manner.
At the opening ceremony of the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, where a whole host of beautiful stars will once again grace the red carpet, many celebrities are expected. Among the finest models on show will be two timepieces from the Rendez-Vous collection. Admirably reflecting its ambassadress Diane Kruger, the Rendez-Vous line embodies a free-spirited and spontaneous personality that constantly reinvents itself in order to spring new surprises. For the Abu Dhabi fair, Jaeger-LeCoultre presents two Rendez-Vous Art Haute Joaillerie creations spectacularly paved using the snow-setting technique: one with diamonds and the other with blue sapphires and rubies. The meticulously hand-crafted gem-setting surrounds the models with an incomparably luminous glow.
Since its founding, the Grande Maison has associated mechanical perfection with the most attractive and complex gem-setting techniques. The decoration using the snow-setting process is performed directly on the watch case. The gem-setter places the diamonds individually, nestling against each other and harmoniously combining stones of various sizes so as to entirely cover the metal of the watch.
“Jaeger-LeCoultre has a long standing connection with the film industry, and a strong commitment to supporting and promoting cinematic culture. As a major player in watchmaking history, celebrating its 179th anniversary, Jaeger-LeCoultre is a true watchmaking legend, respected for upholding watchmaking traditions and maintaining the spirit of invention. A perfect fit in a region with shared regard for tradition and heritage mixed with modernity and the ultimate quest for perfection.” said Jérôme Lambert, Chief Executive Officer Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Throughout its history, La Grande Maison Jaeger-LeCoultre’s affinity has embraced not only the film industry’s development and heritage, but also its key characters; gracing the wrists of many famous cinematic faces as well as starring in several projects throughout the years. Hence, its collaboration with prestigious festivals not only provides a platform for Jaeger-LeCoultre to pledge its support to the world of cinema, it also provides an opportunity for Jaeger-LeCoultre to present its most beautiful High Jewellery Collections and most impressive High Complications, on and off the wrist.
